CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS and PROCEDURES

8th Grade ELA-Ms. Kelley

  1. PUNCTUALITY – Be on time.
    • Be inside the door when the bell rings.
    • Have materials with you.

       

  2. RESPECT – Be mindful of the feelings and interests of yourself and others and their property.
    • Treat others as you wish to be treated.
    • Use appropriate language.
    • Take care of supplies and equipment.

       

  3. INTEGRITY – Choose to do the right thing even when no one is watching.
    • Do your own daily work, tests, and projects.
    • Treat substitutes as teachers.

       

  4. DETERMINATION – Never give up on goals despite obstacles.
    • Complete assignments and turn in on time.
    • Follow instructions.
    • Be on task.

       

  5. EXCELLENCE – Exceed expectations.
  • Actively participate.
  • Do your best.
  • Listen and follow instructions.


                8th Grade Language Arts Guidelines

Grading Policy:

Regular    50%  Major
  50%   Daily

 Work missed due to absence:  It is the student’s responsibility to ask for work missed due to an absence.  All missed assignments/exams must be completed and turned in in a timely manner...usually time given is the number of days absent. 

Late Assignments: Late assignments must be turned in within 3 days of due date and will have a 20 point deduction.   Assignments turned in after 3 days will receive a zero and are not eligible for redo.

Literature and Grammar books are issued to each student upon request.

1st Period: 7:50 - 8:45
2nd Period: 8:49- 9:44
3rd Period: 9:48 - 10:42
4th Period: 10:46 - 11:40
5th Period: 11:44 -12:39
LUNCH 12:29-12:59
6th Period: 1:13-2:07
7th Period: 2:11-3:05
